Consultancy Objectives:

  • Facilitate engaging and structured discussions during the Provincial WWDs Meetings.
  • Maintain thematic focus across sessions related to child marriage, GBV, social inclusion, and youth engagement.
  • Promote a safe and respectful environment for dialogue on sensitive topics.
  • Ensure accessibility and meaningful participation of women with disabilities throughout the sessions 

Scope and Objective of Work:

Aawaz II is organising provincial Women with Disabilities (WWD) Meetings in KP and Punjab with community members including members of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) of WWD established under Aawaz II, civil society representatives, and government stakeholders.

The Provincial WWDs Meetings aim to provide an inclusive and safe platform for women with disabilities civil society, and policymakers to engage in meaningful dialogue on critical social and development issues pertaining to WWDs. The consultations will focus on recommendations for addressing the specific challenges faced by women with disabilities, including but not limited to child marriage, GBV, and social exclusion.

To ensure productive discussions and effective audience engagement, professional WWD event moderator(s) (preferably women with disability) is required to facilitate sessions, support, and guide panel discussions, and ensure smooth flow of the event.

Main Responsibilities:

The moderator(s) will be responsible for:

Pre-Event Preparation:

  • Participate in planning and orientation meeting with the SPO and PMU
  • Prepare discussion points and session plan aligned with event themes.

During the Event:

  • Moderate plenary and thematic sessions, ensuring focus and time management.
  • Introduce speakers and frame key discussion questions.
  • Facilitate interactive Q&A segments and audience engagement.
  • Manage sensitive discussions professionally, ensuring inclusivity and respect.
  • Maintain a positive and motivational tone throughout the event.
  • Coordinate with panellists/speakers for smooth session flow.
  • Ensure discussions are accessible and inclusive, considering diverse disabilities and communication needs
  • Encourage participatory methods to amplify the voices of Women with Disabilities

Post-Event:

  • Participate in the debrief meeting with team at SPO and PMU

DELIVERABLES:

  • Attend the orientation meeting with PMU and SPO
  • Moderate the 1.5-day consultation as decided in the planning meeting

Requirements:

This role requires: 

  • Must be woman with disability (WWD).
  • Master’s degree in social sciences, gender studies or any relevant field
  • Proven experience in moderating and facilitating large scale events with vulnerable groups and government/civil society stakeholders
  • Experience in moderation events related to Person with Disabilities will be preferred
  • Experience in moderating sessions for communities and high-profile participants
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate group exercises and discussions
  • Proven experience of developing and delivering sessions for youth on Aawaz II thematic topics
  • Fluency in English and Urdu Languages.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills
