The MEL Officer will be responsible for implementing and managing monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities at the field level. The position ensures that project performance data is accurately collected, analyzed, and reported, contributing to program improvement and evidence-based decision-making.
Develop and implement field-level monitoring plans in line with the project MEL framework.
Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities, outputs, and outcomes.
Ensure timely and accurate data collection using standardized tools (digital or paper-based).
Verify and validate data received from field teams.
Track progress against indicators and targets at the field level.
Compile field-level data and contribute to progress reports.
Provide analysis and feedback to project management on findings and trends.
Participate in regular review and reflection meetings with project and field teams.
Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories from the field.
Support the dissemination of learning materials and findings at the local level.
Support the implementation of feedback and complaints response mechanisms.
Ensure community participation and accountability standards are upheld during project implementation.
Record and report beneficiary feedback, ensuring timely follow-up and response.
Train field staff, enumerators, and partners on MEL tools, indicators, and data quality assurance.
Promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the field team.
Undertake other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor, including tasks that strengthen community engagement, participatory monitoring, and local accountability mechanisms.
