Junior Hydroponics Expert

The NKE consultant Junior (Hydroponics and Water Quality Expert) will do the specific tasks under the supervision of Senior Hydroponics Expert and the Team Lead.

• Develop tailored macro and micronutrient solutions for specific water sources and each stage of plant growth, as well as provide training to project staff.
• Advise on optimizing water usage, managing pH and TDS levels to ensure efficient nutrient uptake, and maintaining optimal conditions.
• Guide the team in selecting appropriate seeds, establishing nurseries, and transitioning plants into circular hydroponic and Dutch bucket systems.
• Resolve issues in hydroponic systems as they arise, including nutrient deficiencies, pest infestations, and environmental challenges.
• Support the delivery of hydroponic farming training covering plant biology, system variations, nutrient management, and integrated pest control.
• Assist with the efficient operation and ongoing maintenance of hydroponic facilities.
• Provide guidance to operators, farmers, and enterprises on the operation and maintenance of greenhouse and hydroponic systems, including NFT, Dutch bucket, vertical, and aeroponic setups.

Deliverables.

1. Assist in hydroponics related training delivery in Quetta and other districts.
2. Assist in coordination with public and private sector stakeholders in display of hydronics pilots and conduct trainings in various districts of Balochistan.   
3. Assist in developing communication material related to training modules on hydroponics operation and maintenance  

Qualification:

• Master in relevant field, water resource management, Water and environmental science, crop sciences and other relevant field.
• Sound knowledge of water quality and hydroponics plants management, and expertise in training coordination for commercial growers and service providers.
• Over 7-10 years demonstrated experience in hydroponics and greenhouse management.
