Nutrition International (NI), a non-profit agency dedicated to eliminating vitamin and mineral deficiencies worldwide, invites proposals from competent agencies for Logistical and Administrative Support to execute VAS program related activities in Pakistan.
Vitamin A deficiency is a public health problem of significance in Pakistan. The National Nutrition Survey (NNS) 2018 showed that 51.5% of children age 6-59 months were found vitamin A deficient, of which 12.1% were severely deficient and 39.4% were mildly deficient. Every year, Nutrition International “NI” donates the full national supply of vitamin A capsules to the Government of Pakistan in partnership with UNICEF. NI also provides programmatic support to the government to improve and sustain vitamin A coverage through capacity building of the health force, conducting bi-annual meetings, monitoring, and awareness raising etc.
NI plans to continue to provide programmatic support to the Government of Pakistan at the national and provincial-levels. Trainings of District Focal Persons (DFPs),bi-annual meetings and additional support for monitoring of NIDs etc. are routine activities.NI is seeking an agency to provide administrative and logistical support to NI to conduct these activities.
This Request for Proposals (RFP) and particularly the Guidelines for Preparing Proposals that follow, are designed to help Respondents to produce proposals that are acceptable to the NI, and to ensure that all proposals are given equal consideration. It is essential, therefore, that Respondents provide the complete information that is requested, and in the formats and on the terms specified.
