Relevant Experience & Qualification: 

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the field of social sector particularly with international donor agencies, INGOs, NGOs and government at provincial and district level.
  • Master preferably in development or social studies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MEAL Frameworks to monitor and evaluate the issues of Water management in Sindh province.
  • Must be conversant with both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods and analysis.
  • Strong analytical, communication and report writing skills in English.

 Job Description:

The position is responsible for carrying out Monitoring and Evaluation tasks related to – Project titled “Women’s Increased Access to Water Resources and Agricultural Markets” in District Hyderabad, Tando Mohammad Khan and Badin. 

  • Assist in conducting need assessments and baseline surveys for mapping the beneficiaries.
  • Facilitate in development of training manuals, and capacity building of the women self-help groups.
  • Introduce new agricultural trends and techniques at field level which can help small landholder women to increase their agricultural yields.
  • Provide assistance to women farmers in registration process such as Water Course Associations and other farmer organizations to ensure the inclusion of women in agricultural planning.
  • Build strong liaison with legislators/ parliamentarians and district government officials.
  • Organize policy advocacy and lobbying meetings with legislators for the approval of amendments in the Sindh Water Management Ordinance (SWMO)-2002, development of rules of business, and its implementation at the district level in the focused areas.
  • Coordinate with Sindh Irrigation Drainage Authority (SIDA), District Agriculture department and representatives on human rights, women rights for the effective implementation of the project.
  • Carrying out independent research/ data collection on project related activities with in these three districts of Sindh.
  • Close Coordination with Self-help group women landholder, Landless women sharecropper, Women owning livestock, to carry out the advocacy plan, provide technical support and organize monthly and quarterly review meetings
  • Following the work plan and meeting the targets as per plan.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and bi-annual work plans and activity reports.
  • Documentation of all activities and compile data for monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Support the team to carry out the project activities.
  • Share technical information when necessary to the farmers/ beneficiaries about the agriculture/livestock relevant issues and problems.
  • Consult with researchers, academicians and extension departments for proposing suitable crop management practices.
