Position Objectives:

This entails overall responsibility for the effective and efficient management of the programs from Programme Implementation Unit to look after targeted 3 x districts from Sind & Balochistan. level. He/ She will work closely with the PHQs & district teams to ensure smooth, efficient & timely implementation of the programme. Also will be a focal point between NHQ, PHQs & UNDP for execution, reporting, coordination, monitoring & follow ups.  

Specific Duties, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact at PIU, leading the overall responsible body for ensuring the implementation of the agreements between PRCS and UNDP Pakistan country office.
  • Trouble shooting of the issues and challenges related to programmes implementation
  • Provide the Programme ,NHQ, & PHQ,  Country Coordinator UNDP, with technical advises on quality implementation of programme.
  • Regularly visit and closely monitor the quality and implementation of the on ground activities and advise the staff on possible solutions to problems as they arise. The position will require extensive travel and frequent field based .
  • Maintaining and monitoring project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
  • Ensure the performance of team members at all tiers with an approach of delivery, trigger mechanism and execution of outputs as compared to set objectives and timelines of implementation and reporting, identify problems and suggest solutions as appropriate
  • Participate in all PRCS Coordination and Planning and Review meetings (monthly, quarterly, annually) etc.
  • Develop and maintain good liaison with governmental authorities, donors, Humanitarian Country Team, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), private sector and civil society organizations, with the aim of coordinating and promoting programme activities.
  • Flexibility to travel into the fields to conduct monitoring & other related tasks
    • Ensure collection & submission of adequate project documentation, archiving and presentation of best practice to NHQ
    • Any other duty assigned by the PRCS Senior Management.
  • Organizing, attending and participating in stakeholder meetings.
 
  • Create a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective
  • Contribute to the effective coordination, planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of project activities in accordance with the work plan.
  • Ensure that donor reporting, information requirements, and other requirements are communicated to relevant project staff

Education

  • Masters/ 16 years education in Project Management/ Social Sciences/ Natural Sciences or related field from HEC recognized Institution/ University

Experience

  • 06 – 07 years of professional working experience in handling of developmental and Humanitarian related programs/projects.
  • Experience to handle projects mainly in the field of DRR, livelihood, Youth and Gender.
  • A preference will be given to candidate having experience working on Tsunami & EQ in coastal areas
  • Working experience with Red Cross Red Crescent Movement/ humanitarian/ rescue and relief organization will be an advantage

Skills/Knowledge

  • Management & technical skills on development of SoPs, guidelines etc.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English.
  • Certification in Project Management would be added value.
  • Good Command over the Microsoft Office (word, excel & power point).
  • Strong monitoring, evaluation, & analysis skills would be required.
