Description: 2 Sports Event Organizers are required for a period of 8 months to help organize a total of 12 Sports events in Sindh, Khyberpakhtunkhwa and Islamabad. The events will primarily engage female players and will cover a broad range of sports including cricket, football, table tennis, volleyball, basketball etc.

Contract duration: October 2020- May 2021 (short-term).
Vacancy closing date: 25 September, 2020. Applications will be assessed on an ongoing basis, and finalized within advertisement period.
Job timings and requirements: Individuals will be required to come to the office as per office hours (09:00 am -05:00 pm). Visits to schools, or out-of-office meetings with relevant stakeholders will be required. Domestic travel may also be required occasionally (Right To Play will cover all travel costs for field visits and arrange logistics).
Role & Responsibilities:
- Report to the Project Officer and assist in program related tasks.
- Assist the Field Facilitator in planning, organizing and coordinating 12 sports events.
- Coordinate with local clubs, athletes, coaches, Sports Federations and media.
- Coordinate with government and private school management.
- Work with the graphic designing team to prepare media/banners for the events.
- Update Right To Play social media prior, during and after the events.
- Supervise the videography/photography team to ensure proper coverage of the events.
- Supervise the work of coaches (where required).
- Prepare budgets, event/narrative reports and other necessary documentation required during the planning and implementation phase.
Qualification:
Minimum Bachelors’ degree (Students in a final semester may also be considered, provided they have excellent grasp of below mentioned skills).
Having a sports background as a college athlete/player or coach is desirable but not required.
Skills:
- Excellent event management skills; understands key aspects of organizing a good event (planning, budgeting, coordinating etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills; be able to connect with youth coaches/players and coordinate with government and other officials (where needed).
- Good computer skills; able to use Microsoft Office.
- Good report writing skills.
- Good handling of social media (twitter/facebook etc.); constantly be able to update Right To Play’s social media as per guidance by the Project Officer.
- Demonstrate maturity and ability to work with children and youth.
- Have basic knowledge of major sports (rules, how to organize tournaments etc.)
- Self-motivated and able to take initiative.
- Interest in working in sport for development or sport for girls’ empowerment is a bonus
Remuneration: 45,000 PKR per month (tax deduction as per FBR applicable on this month)
