Position Title:          Regional Agribusiness Coordinator

Reporting:                 Value Chain Specialist

Location:                    Hunza, Chillas and Skardu

Pay scale:                   PKR 85,000 to PKR 95,000 per month

Job Summary

The Regional Agribusiness Coordinator will look after the overall cooperative formation process, identification of the agribusiness/agriculture potential and organizing farmers into cooperatives. The incumbent will ensure that the activities are in line with project objectives. Will keep close coordination with the Value chain stakeholders for assessments of value chain activities, prepare feasibilities and provide support in the preparation of business plan.

Key Responsibilities

Specifically, the Regional Agribusiness Coordinator will carry out the following tasks:

  • Identification of potential farmers clusters, mobilizing them into farmer cooperatives and preparation of documents for registration.
  • Provide support in registration of cooperatives with cooperative department.
  • Preparation of pre feasibilities and business plans.
  • Provide support in implementation of business plan.
  • Assist value chain specialist, marketing and business specialist and cooperative specialist in their respective domains.
  • Support in preparation of annual work plan, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Overall handholding, improvement, coaching of cooperatives in 4P businesses.
  • Ability of working in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment and rural communities

 

Qualification & Skills

  • Minimum 16 years of education in business administration / public administration/ economics / agriculture economics / horticulture or any other relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience out of which 3 years’ experience should be in a similar role. Experience of working with International NGOs, donor agencies, or other reputed international development organizations will be a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Computer literacy with demonstrated use of Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills in English required
