Pay scale:                   PKR 210,000 to PKR 220,000 per month

Job Summary

The Marketing and Business Specialist will report to Value Chain Technical Lead. The incumbent will carry out the business development and marketing task for the cooperatives, implementation of project activities, identification of key private sector entities that can be potential partners for farmer cooperatives for longer and sustainable partnerships.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Identification of potential and sustainable agri businesses as per local, national and international demand.
• Prepare business development and marketing strategy for the cooperatives and 4Ps.
• Develop efficient marketing strategy for selected value chains and facilitate partnerships between local producers and national entities.
• Assist in developing partnerships for cooperatives with financial institution, market players, processors and exporters.
• Provide guidance on market/demand driven production.
• Guide program staff as well as farmer associations in marketing local products.
• Tap marketing events including expose, trade shows etc. where local farmers can participate
• Conduct scouting, scoping and matchmaking exercise to identify potential buyers for local produce leading to contract farming.
• Help identify funding and support in the preparation of proposals, grants and business plans
• Prepare monthly reports on sales activities, marketing initiatives and overall business performance.
• Ability of working in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment and rural communities.

Qualifications / Experience

• Minimum 16 years of education in agriculture / business administration / public administration/ economics / agriculture economics / horticulture or any other relevant field
• Minimum 15 years' relevant experience out of which 10 years’ experience should be in a similar role. Experience of working with International NGOs, donor agencies, or other reputed international development organizations will be a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Computer literacy with demonstrated use of Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
• Excellent writing and communications skills in English required
