Job Summary

Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Optometrist (Pediatric Eye Care / Orthoptist) to join its healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide specialized eye care services to infants, children, and adolescents, with a focus on early detection, assessment, and management of pediatric vision disorders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pediatric eye examinations and vision assessments.
• Perform orthoptic and binocular vision assessments.
• Assess and manage refractive errors and other pediatric visual conditions.
• Prescribe corrective lenses and recommend appropriate vision-care interventions.
• Identify early signs of ocular and developmental vision problems.
• Provide child-friendly eye examinations and ensure a comfortable patient experience.
• Counsel parents and caregivers regarding children's eye health and vision development.
• Coordinate with ophthalmologists, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate patient records, clinical documentation, and reports.
• Participate in pediatric eye-care camps, community outreach, and awareness activities as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Vision Science (BVS) from an HEC-recognized institution.
• Additional certification, qualification, or training in Pediatric Eye Care / Orthoptics will be preferred.
• 2–5 years of relevant clinical experience in pediatric eye care or orthoptics.
• Good knowledge of pediatric vision assessment and binocular vision disorders.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient counseling skills.
• Compassionate and patient approach when working with children.
