Justice Hub Interns (Sanghar
& Dadu)

The Justice Hub Intern supports service delivery and community outreach at the Justice Hub. The role contributes across client intake, documentation, case follow-up, data management, community mobilization, and the preparation and online filing of client complaints before the relevant Ombudsman offices. The position offers practical exposure to legal aid, mediation, client services, public-sector complaint mechanisms, legal and social research, referrals, community engagement, and access-to-justice programming. All duties are carried out under the supervision of authorized Justice Hub staff.

1. Client Intake and Case Support

• Support registration and intake processes for clients accessing Justice Hub services.
• Assist in preparing clear, factual, and accurate client case summaries.
• Organise and maintain complete and updated client documentation and case files.
• Support authorised client follow-up activities and maintain records of actions taken.
• Assist in directing clients toward the appropriate service pathway including legal advice, representation, mediation, complaint filing, or referral services.

2. Ombudsman Complaint Support

• Assist in collecting and organising information and supporting documents required for complaint submission before relevant Ombudsman offices.
• Support preparation, drafting, and online filing of complaints under staff supervision.
• Maintain complaint records including acknowledgement receipts, tracking details, and follow-up timelines.
• Assist in monitoring complaint status and pending responses.
• Ensure confidentiality and secure handling of all complaint-related information.

3. Legal and Social Research

• Conduct supervised research on applicable laws, policies, public complaint mechanisms, government institutions, and social issues relevant to clients.
• Assist in developing research notes, legal summaries, referral resources, and briefing materials.
• Support review of publicly available procedures and requirements of Ombudsman offices and referral institutions.
• Contribute to the preparation of legal-awareness materials, presentations, and community information resources.

4. Community Outreach and Engagement

• Assist in planning and organising legal-awareness and community-engagement activities.
• Support mobilisation efforts to strengthen awareness and access to Justice Hub services.
• Assist coordination with universities, communities, bar associations, government departments, and partner organisations.
• Support participant registration, attendance tracking, feedback collection, and event documentation.
• Help identify potential legal-aid, mediation, complaint, and referral cases emerging through outreach initiatives.

5. Data Management and Case Tracking

• Support timely and accurate entry of client, complaint, referral, and programme data.
• Assist in data cleaning, verification, and quality assurance processes.
• Maintain case trackers, referral records, complaint logs, and activity databases.
• Support preparation of weekly and monthly activity summaries and reporting.

6. Programme and Administrative Support

• Provide logistical and administrative support for meetings, awareness sessions, consultations, and outreach activities.
• Assist in preparing documents, presentations, participant records, and meeting materials.
• Participate in team meetings, orientations, and learning sessions.
• Maintain weekly internship activity logs and complete assigned learning tasks.
• Support additional programme assignments as delegated by the Justice Hub team.

Education

• Fresh graduate in Law or Social Sciences from a recognised institution; or
• Final-year student currently enrolled in Law or a relevant Social Sciences programme.

Relevant disciplines include:
Law, Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Criminology, Political Science, Public Administration, International Relations, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Human Rights, and related fields.

Knowledge and Experience

• Demonstrated interest in access to justice, legal aid, mediation, human rights, community service, or public complaint mechanisms.
• Basic understanding of Pakistan’s legal and administrative systems is preferred.
• Previous internship, volunteer work, legal clinic exposure, moot court participation, research, or community engagement experience is an advantage.
• No prior professional experience required.

Technical Skills

• Strong legal, policy, and research-writing skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Workspace.
• Competence in completing online submissions and managing digital documentation.
• Ability to organise and maintain accurate case and complaint records.
• Responsible use of digital and AI tools while ensuring confidentiality and data protection.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Respectful and empathetic communication with vulnerable and marginalised communities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and multidisciplinary environment.
• Fluency in Urdu, Sindhi, and English; additional local languages are an advantage.
• Willingness to participate in approved outreach and field activities.
• Commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding, ethics, and client-centred service.
• Ability to work under supervision and deliver assigned work within agreed timelines.
