Communication Mobilizer -Block & Area Level (COMNet)

Z.M.K. & Co. (ZMK) invites applications from qualified, motivated, and community-oriented individuals for the position of Community Mobilizer under the under the Communication Network (COMNet) Programme. The position offers an opportunity to contribute towards the Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) and strengthening of Routine Immunization (RI) by promoting community awareness, building trust, and supporting behaviour change through effective community engagement.

Purpose

The Community Mobilizer will play a key role in increasing community participation in immunization programmes through community engagement, behaviour change communication, and social mobilization. The incumbent will work closely with community members, local influencers, and stakeholders to promote immunization activities, address barriers to vaccine uptake, and support the effective implementation of programme activities within the assigned area.

Key Responsibilities

• Mobilize and engage community members to increase awareness, participation, and trust in Polio and Routine Immunization programmes.
• Plan, organize, and implement community engagement activities, including community meetings, door-to-door visits, and outreach events.
• Promote and facilitate the coverage of missed children through community awareness and engagement of local influencers and leaders.
• Conduct regular profiling of still missed children (Refusals and Not Available cases) and support efforts to address barriers to immunization.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with community influencers, religious and tribal leaders, women and youth leaders, Community Based Organizations (CBOs), health workers, and other stakeholders.
• Work with communities to identify and address misconceptions, misinformation, and other barriers affecting immunization uptake.
• Coordinate with relevant government officials and local stakeholders during demand generation, boycott refusals, and crisis communication.
• Participate in training and capacity-building activities to strengthen community mobilization and communication skills.
• Ensure timely reporting of field activities, issues, and suspected AFP cases identified during community visits.
• Support advocacy and community mobilization activities in assigned Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) areas, where applicable.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification

• Male or female who must be from the same locality (area of work) with good knowledge and familiarity of the local environment, including local language, religious practices, and cultural norms.
• At least Intermediate (FA/FSc or equivalent).
• Proven experience in community development, social work, and/or community-based organizations/committees, preferably in immunization or public health programmes, will be considered an added advantage.

Experience & Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with community members and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, while effectively planning and prioritizing assigned tasks.
• Proficiency in local languages and Urdu.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to use smartphones for programme-related activities and reporting.

Additional Information

• Preference will be given to candidates who belong to or reside within the respective Union Council (UC) or assigned area of work. However, selection will be based strictly on merit, and the most suitable candidate meeting the requirements of the position will be appointed.
