Objective of the Position
The Social Mobilizer will facilitate community-level engagement and mobilization to support effective implementation of cold wave response activities, ensuring that assistance reaches the most vulnerable populations in a timely and dignified manner.
Key Responsibilities
The Social Mobilizer will be responsible for the following:
- Conduct community outreach and awareness sessions on cold wave preparedness, health, and safety measures
- Mobilize communities for project activities, including distributions, referrals, and awareness campaigns
- Identify and register vulnerable households in coordination with the project team
- Support fair and transparent beneficiary selection in line with project criteria
- Coordinate with community leaders, elders, and local committees to ensure community acceptance and participation
- Disseminate key messages related to winter safety, hygiene, and protection concerns
- Support distribution activities and ensure orderly and respectful engagement with beneficiaries
- Collect basic field data, attendance records, and beneficiary feedback
- Report daily field activities, challenges, and community concerns to the Field Supervisor
- Ensure inclusion of women, elderly persons, and persons with disabilities in all activities
- Adhere to organizational policies, safeguarding, and humanitarian principles
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum intermediate or bachelor’s degree in social sciences or a related field preferred
- At least 1–2 years of experience in community mobilization, humanitarian response, or development projects
- Familiarity with the local context, language, and culture of Gilgit-Baltistan
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in harsh weather and remote areas
- Experience working with vulnerable communities will be an asset
