A National Level NGO engaged in advocacy, campaigning, community mobilization, research, networking, challenging anti poor policies, plans and actions at local, national and international level with different coalitions. Since its inception, covered at least 22 districts of Balochistan and has worked to ensure a peaceful and secure environment within communities. The main Goal is to eliminate poverty and violence from society by means of encouraging human rights and civic education culture.
Job Summary:
The Community Midwife will be responsible to healthcare professional who provides comprehensive maternal and child health services within a community setting, focusing on prenatal, postnatal, and family planning needs. CMWs work with individuals, families, and communities to promote healthy pregnancies, deliveries, and postpartum care, including health education, counseling, and referrals
Main Responsibilities:
- Has a thorough understanding of and abides by statutory publications that directly affect the Midwife’s role, responsibilities and accountability, such as NMC code, rules and guidelines for safe midwifery practice.
- Accepts responsibility for personal, professional development and education needs, including attendance at in-service training and mandatory study days.
- Participates in hospital audit and research programmes in order to rationalize professional care. Acts as a mentor to Student Midwives/Nurses and facilitates the creation of a learning environment.
- Acts as a preceptor to newly qualified staff and demonstrates the ability to provide ongoing support for junior colleagues.
- Disseminates professional and clinical knowledge to colleagues by participation in presentations, research groups etc.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the role of the Supervisor of Midwives. Understands Clinical Governance, Risk Management and the Quality Agenda, and participates in Clinical Incident Reporting where necessary.
- To have an awareness of contributing to and supporting the Band 7 midwife to achieve compliance with the CQC outcomes and CNST standards.
- Responsible for maintaining midwifery competencies by acquiring and consolidating the requisite knowledge and skills necessary for safe midwifery practice. Promotes and is an advocate for normal birth. Is able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate midwifery care given to women using a holistic and innovative approach to practice.
- Understand and apply research and evidence to midwifery practice. Participates in protocol/practice reviews using knowledge of research developments. Participates in parent-education programmes.
- Actively promotes ‘stop smoking’ to clients and offers appropriate support.
- Ensures that midwifery care is provided and is consistent with clinical guidelines and service developments such as the Baby Friendly Initiative.
- Participates in the management of the Team caseload.
- Acts as Named Midwife for a group of women within the Team caseload. Able to work flexibly and participate in on-call rota to provide 24 hour cover for the Team caseload.
- Demonstrates clinical competence relating to suturing of the perineum, maintenance of epidural infusion, IV additives/administration and care of the high risk woman
- Ensures that Stockport and High Peak policies on child protection are adhered to and attends regular updates with regard to detection and reporting of child protection incidents.
- Maintains accurate, contemporaneous client records including computer records.
- Takes responsibility for addressing client needs by liaising with other health professionals/agencies as required.
- Maintains effective communication channels with clients and ensures appropriate client information is available.

Education & Experience:
- Minimum Diploma in CMW – 02 Years.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of related experience.
