Position Overview:
The Accounts Manager is a senior member of the Finance team, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The position plays a key leadership role in ensuring sound financial management, maintaining compliance with accounting principles and statutory requirements, and supporting strategic financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise preparation of quarterly, bi-annual, and annual account reconciliations, ensuring compliance with financial and tax reporting standards.
- Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cash flow forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Coordinate annual audits and ensure adherence to established accounting policies and principles.
- Manage cash flow positions, investment of funds, and relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
- Advise management on liquidity, investment strategies, and capital structure optimization.
- Develop and enforce strong internal controls, financial policies, and reporting mechanisms.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, regulatory bodies, and financial service providers.
- Manage reconciliations, budgeting, invoicing, and audit coordination.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and team management skills in guiding, mentoring, and supervising junior accounting staff.
- Stay updated with changes in taxation and financial reporting standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- CA: CA- Finalist; ACCA
- Must have completed an article ship in a reputable firm.
- Minimum 7 years of post-qualification/article ship experience in finance and accounting, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
- Strong understanding of financial instruments, preferably treasury operations, and best practices.
- Strong command over taxation, compliance, and IFRS-based financial reporting.
- Experience in the National & International organizations, preferably development sector organization.
