Job Title:                Accounts and Finance Officer

Position based:     Islamabad

Report To:             Director of Finance & Human Resources

BACKGROUND: 

An international media development organization seeks applications from qualified candidates to join a dynamic team to support the management and operations of public information media development programs.

SUMMARY:

Accounts and Finance Officer will responsible for the daily function of accounting including overseeing generating of financial reports in web based ERP system, filing, and other finance and accounting related issues under the close supervision of the Director of Finance & Human Resources.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepares financial report using the application web based ERP system
  • Record payments in accounting system using proper account and project codes
  • Ensures all expenses are reasonable and allocable, and conform to cost principles
  • Prepare month end reports and bank reconciliation in timely manner
  • Prepare staff payroll and process with bank
  • Prepare staff vacation & severance accrual and payroll allocation of multiple projects every month
  • To assist DF&HR in preparation of wires
  • To manage and maintain a track record of procurement budgets
  • Periodic visit to sub grantees for checking financial reports, bank reconciliation, contracts, time sheets and time allocation
    • Coordinate with bank for official transactions, issuance of statements and opening of staff salary account
    • To prepare analysis by project, by activities by line item
    • To file financial reports, vouchers, letters, budgets etc in good order and easy to access
    • Any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor
    • Bachelor Degree in Finance and Accounting
    • At least 1-2 years experience in finance and accounting
    • Project, finance and contract management experience
    • Strong analytical skills, ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
    • Familiarity with Internet resources, Excel, Word and Outlook.
    • Good English written and spoken skills

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance and Accounting
  • At least 1-2 years experience in finance and accounting
  • Project, finance and contract management experience
  • Strong analytical skills, ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Familiarity with Internet resources, Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Good English written and spoken skills
