  1. A.    Principal Duties and Responsiblities:

           i.      Assist with project accounting and financial management, particularly strict adherence to Chemonics policies and procedures, USAID rules and regulations,                           and Pakistani laws.

          ii.       Support and in the absence of Accountant, manage the accounting cycle, including the processing of accounting transactions in accordance with general                              principles of accounting and Chemonics policies and procedures, and preparing appropriate documentation of journal entries, payment requests, and general                        ledger reconcilitations.

       iii.      Ensure incurred costs are allowable, allocable, and reasonable in accordance with USAID cost principles and Chemonics policies and procedures.

       iv.      Prepare and process timely financial reporting using ABACUS financial system, including monthly accrual/projection spreadsheets, and ensure timely submission                  for review. Prepare and/or review ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed.

         v.   Prepare monthly wire transfer requests for submission to the Home Office (HO).

         vi.   Prepare payroll and ensure allocation of payroll costs ot appropriate general ledger accounts.

         vii.   Work closely with internal and external auditors during field program audits.

         viii.  Assist in preparing submission of all tax withholdings to relevant parties

         ix.   Prepare petty csh vouchers as and when needed

         x.   Dissimenate information on SER to all project staff on a monthly basis

        xi.   Support the Finance team in budgeting and providing expenditure progress

        xii.   Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

 

  1. B.     Required Skills and Qualifications:

          i.      Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.

         ii.      Minimum of three (3) years of experience; USAID experience preferred.

        iii.      Excellent interpersonal and communicaitons skills.

        iv.      Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.

         v.      Fluency in English required.

C.    Location of Assignment: The employee will be based in Islamabad, Pakistan with intermittent travel throughout the country.
