Job Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Country Director in translating the USAID strategic direction/ Country Development Cooperation Strategy into the Project’s Annual Workplans;
  • Supervise and provide technical support to the project staff for deployment and timely implementation of the workplan activities;
  • Support the Federal MoNHSR&C and provinces for sustainable strengthening supply chain functions related to infectious disease prevention, provision of basic health services along Af-Pak border districts and Hepatitis C elimination;
  • Supervise the implementation of provincial level supply chain guidelines on infectious diseases and capacity building of relevant government staff;  
  • Supervise and coordinate activities pertaining to the establishment of National/Provincial Planning, Development and Monitoring Units (PDMUs) for Hep C and information system;
  • Coordinate activities related to promoting private sector engagement in health commodities supply chain business in Pakistan;
  • Work with Federal and provincial government stakeholders (MoNHSR&C, PBS, NTC, EPI, DOH & PWD, provincial information technology boards) for LMIS sustainability through transfer of ownership and change management;
  • Coordinate with the Director Management Information System for integrating and optimizing technology solutions pertaining to health supply chain and LMIS sustainability;
  • Collaborate with public sector stakeholders for conceptualization and finalization of design and development of Vaccine Preventable Infectious Diseases /COVID-19 / CHE Management Information Systems;
  • Support the Federal MoNHSR&C for implementation of contraceptives commodity security related CCI recommendations and relevant national action plan for sustainable strengthening supply chain functions including health commodities procurement;
  • Supervise public sector meetings, workshops, and workforce development initiatives as per requirements of the project workplan;
  • Oversee timely implementation of M&E activities per project workplan; 
  • Coordinate for SCM related workforce development initiatives at federal and provincial levels; 
  • Coordinate with Human Resources (HR) and Operations on STTA contract management;
  • Coordinate with STTAs on timely accomplishment of deliverables;
  • Supervise activities pertaining to knowledge management including development of Project publications, reports/ updates (including quarterly progress reports, monthly updates, weekly meeting minutes), presentations, briefs, cables, assist bullets etc. ;
  • Assist Country Director in all technical matters and represent the project, where needed, in various meetings, conferences, workshops, and seminars to be organized at federal and provincial levels;
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The qualifications listed below are representative of the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed to perform the principal duties.

 

  • Master Degree in public health, pharmacy, social sciences, supply chain management or relevant field.
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience in development and public sector in the fields of supply chain systems strengthening, technical field operations, supply chain workforce development and documentations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity.
  • Fluency in English required.

Level of Effort and Location

This long-term position will be based in Islamabad, with intermittent travel throughout the country.

 

 Supervision

The Director Basic Health Services & MEL will report directly to the USAID GHSC-PSM Country Director.
