Distribution Project Advisor

Tetra Tech ES, Inc., a subsidiary of Tetra Tech (USA) dedicated to international development, is recruiting Pakistan-based professional for the position below to support multi-year (2017-2021) USAID-funded Sustainable Energy for Pakistan (SEP) project.

Key Responsibilities include

The Distribution Project Advisor will provide managerial and technical oversight for distribution related activities for the targeted DISCOs. He will support and lead a variety of strategic efforts inclusive of playing pivotal role in building various project plans. This position is crucial to the Tetra Tech’s ability to design and develop technical interventions under USAID’s SEP program for the distribution sector in Pakistan which include but not limited to:

• Responsible to undertake comprehensive study aimed at identifying critical issues impacting the financial performance and operation of the DISCOs.
• Based on the outcome of the study, develop loss reduction and commercial improvement plans comprising details of recommended approach, key initiatives and action plan.
• Design, develop and produce reports from central data base to help project team in planning various performance improvement initiatives.
• Provide support to task lead in the use and understanding of commercial as well as technical data to enhance /aid design of project plans.
• Under each initiative, identify and develop various projects and corresponding plans with objectives, timelines, deliverables, dependencies, budgetary estimates, cost-benefit analysis and potential risks for implementation.
• Conduct consultative meetings with the DSICO management in finalizing these projects based on ease of implementation, benefits, DISCO priorities and change readiness of the DISCOs.
• Responsible for electrical network sketching and collection of technical parameters required for performing simulation and preparing proposals.
• Evaluate and monitor progress of the execution schemes and carry out post implementation analysis.
• Develop balance score card and KPIs to monitor and control the execution of the project plan and provide feedback on implementable actions to ensure performance obligations are fully complied with.

Qualification & Experience                        

• MBA/Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a HEC recognized university.
• Candidate should have minimum 8-10 years of work experience in distribution sub-sector in power industry in areas of project planning and design, field implementation, simulations and analysis.
• Working experience in DISCOs is highly preferred.
• Experience of working on multi donor projects is a plus.
• Ability to work in team environment and meet tight deadlines under demanding conditions.
• Excellent communication and writing skills with ability to present complex technical proposals.
• High level of computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and Power point.

LANGUAGES:       Excellent language proficiency in both writing and speaking in English and Urdu.
