The Embassy of Switzerland is the official representation of Switzerland and covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations and development cooperation between the two countries. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic, financial and legal affairs, as well as science, education and culture. In Pakistan, the focus of the development cooperation program is on ‘Water’ and ‘Local State Building’.
We are currently looking for an individual who is eligible to work as an Assistant under a full time consultant contract from June 2019 to September 2019 for the project We the People We the Arts 2019 supported by the Embassy of Switzerland and Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA). The assigned candidate shall receive a remuneration between Rs 40’000 – 60’000 per month depending on the qualifications of the applicant.
Job tasks and responsibilities include the following:
The Assistant will be based at PNCA and is expected to support the Embassy of Switzerland team in the effective implementation of the third edition of We the Peoples, We the Arts 2019. She/he closely interacts with the Embassy of Switzerland team and provides relevant information to the participants, jury members and project partners.
Specific tasks/responsibilities:
- Ensure communication between Swiss Embassy and PNCA;
- Ensure coordination between the different involved universities;
- Supervise and control the transportation of the art pieces;
- Supervise the reception/registration of art work at the PNCA;
- Organize returning of non-selected art pieces;
- Support PNCA in the auction and in any other tasks related to the project;
- Support the organization of the juries;
- Any other tasks related to this project needed by the Swiss Embassy;
- Prepare a draft report 15 days before the end of the assignment.
Personal Specification Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar position;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Urdu);
- Possess strong planning, organizational and prioritizing skills; and the ability to work independently as well as in a team;
- Communicates in a confident, clear and understandable manner (both verbally and in writing);
- The ability to multi-task and accommodate cyclical work volume;
- Advanced level knowledge of Ms-Office (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Ms Outlook and Internet;
- Must provide his own equipment (mobile phone, laptop, internet etc.).
