Mentor (Female)

Job Purpose

To provide practical career guidance, one-on-one mentorship, and industry insights to rural women undergoing IT and digital skills training, enabling them to apply their skills in freelancing, e-commerce, digital marketing, content creation, and online business development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide at least six hours of mentorship per week for the prescribed four-month mentorship period.
• Offer individualized guidance to trainees regarding digital career pathways, freelancing, and entrepreneurship.
• Support trainees in applying their newly acquired digital skills to real-world business and professional opportunities.
• Guide trainees in creating and improving freelancing profiles, developing portfolios, identifying clients, and presenting their services professionally.
• Advise trainees on establishing and managing online businesses, including product selection, digital marketing, e-commerce, and customer engagement.
• Share practical industry experiences, emerging trends, successful business practices, and lessons learned.
• Help trainees identify potential income-generating opportunities and develop actionable career or business plans.
• Motivate trainees to overcome challenges and remain engaged in their professional development.
• Facilitate professional networking and connect trainees with relevant industry opportunities, where required.
• Maintain records of mentoring sessions, key issues, agreed actions, and follow-up activities.
• Monitor trainee progress and provide feedback to the training team and program management.
• Participate in periodic performance evaluations and feedback sessions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Demonstrable professional experience in digital business, freelancing, e-commerce, digital marketing, IT, or content creation.
• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience in digital business or freelancing,
• Verifiable evidence of professional success and income generation in the relevant field.
• Experience in mentoring, coaching, or career guidance is preferred.
• Understanding of challenges faced by women entering the digital workforce.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
