Communication Block Officer -Lakki

Z.M.K. & Co. invites applications from qualified, motivated, and dynamic professionals for the position of Communication Block Officer for Lakki Marwat (Thakhtikhel) under the Communication Network (COMNet) Programme. The position offers an opportunity to contribute towards the Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) and strengthening of Routine Immunization (RI) by promoting effective Community Engagement, Social Behaviour Change, and stakeholder collaboration at the block level.

Purpose

The Communication Block Officer will support communication and Community Engagement activities within the assigned block to strengthen community participation in the Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) and Routine Immunization (RI). The incumbent will facilitate community partnerships, support communication micro-planning, supervise Community Mobilizers, strengthen local stakeholder engagement, and contribute to the effective implementation of programme activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with communities, community leaders, local authorities, Community Based Organizations (CBOs), and other key stakeholders.
• Support the planning and implementation of Social and Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) and community engagement activities.
• Develop and maintain challenge mapping, social profiling, and stakeholder databases to support evidence-based programme implementation.
• Facilitate community meetings, dialogues, and partnerships to strengthen trust, participation, and ownership.
• Supervise, monitor, mentor, and provide technical support to Community Mobilizers (CMs) within the assigned block.
• Support communication micro-planning, routine immunization activities, campaign implementation, monitoring visits, and field supervision.
• Ensure programme activities are responsive to community needs and sensitive to local cultural and social norms.
• Prepare timely reports, maintain programme documentation, and perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification

• Male or female having Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or in a relevant field, such as Public Health, Social Work, or Community Development.

Experience

• At least 2–3 years of experience in community mobilization & engagement activities, preferably in immunization or public health programmes.
• Experience working with diverse communities and an understanding of cultural sensitivity and humility.
• Proven experience of leading and motivating diverse teams.
• Ability to travel within the assigned block or other areas as needed.
• Knowledge of local languages and customs, as well as the cultural and political dynamics that impact immunization programmes, is an advantage.

Skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and relationships with diverse groups of people.
• Knowledge and understanding of community dynamics and cultural norms to navigate potential barriers.
• Strong data collection, analysis and organizational skills to plan and execute effective community engagement activities, including timely feedback for improvement.

Additional Information

• Preference will be given to candidates who belong to or reside within the respective block. However, selection will be based strictly on merit, and the most suitable candidate meeting the requirements of the position will be appointed.
