Z.M.K. & Co. invites applications from qualified, dynamic, and committed professionals for the position of Child Protection Officer (NOA-1 Equivalent) to support UNICEF's Child Protection Programme in Balochistan.

Purpose of the Position

The Child Protection Officer will provide technical, operational, and administrative support for the planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of child protection prevention programmes in line with the Multi-Year Work Plan (2026–2027). The incumbent will support community-based child protection initiatives, humanitarian response activities, birth registration systems strengthening, and stakeholder engagement to improve child protection outcomes across the province.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Supporting implementation of Child Protection Multi-Year Work Plan activities, particularly prevention programming, community engagement, social and behaviour change initiatives, and emergency response interventions.
  • Collaborating with children, adolescents, government counterparts, NGOs, UN agencies, and other stakeholders to facilitate effective programme implementation.
  • Promoting integrated programming with UNICEF sectors including Health, Education, Nutrition, Social Policy, Gender and PSEA.
  • Participating in programme monitoring, evaluations, reviews, field visits, and reporting exercises.
  • Providing technical and operational support to government departments and implementing partners on child protection prevention strategies and best practices.
  • Building and maintaining partnerships with provincial and district-level stakeholders.
  • Supporting capacity-building initiatives for children, adolescents, frontline workers, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintaining programme databases and preparing reports, briefing notes, presentations, and documentation.
  • Supporting humanitarian response activities, monitoring, coordination, and reporting.
  • Assisting in child protection case identification and referral mechanisms in coordination with District Child Protection Units (DCPUs).
  • Providing coordination and technical support for birth registration initiatives across the province.


Education

  • Master's Degree in International Relations, International Development, Human Rights, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, International Law, or any other relevant Social Science discipline.
  • Bachelor's degree in International Relations, International Development, Human Rights, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, International Law, or any other relevant Social Science discipline with 2 years of relevent professional experience

Experience

  • Minimum two (02) year of relevant professional experience in Child Protection, Social Development, Programme Implementation, Community engagement, or related fields.
  • Experience with government, development partners, NGOs, or UN agencies will be considered an asset.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of child protection principles and prevention programming.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and work independently.
  • Fluency in English and Urdu; knowledge of local languages will be an advantage.
