Software Engineer

Job Purpose

MALC is seeking a skilled Software Engineer with strong experience in DHIS2 implementation and .NET development to support health information systems and modernize the organization’s ERP and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and implement DHIS2 systems, including Tracker Programs, datasets, and validation rules.
• Develop and maintain DHIS2 modules and support data analysis and management.
• Work on web-based ERP development and enhancements using modern technologies.
• Design, develop, and maintain applications using .NET technologies and REST APIs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand workflow, requirements, and system integration needs.
• Document system processes, technical requirements, and implementation details.
• Perform data cleaning and analysis (knowledge of Python or R is a plus).
• Support automation initiatives aligned with a paperless environment.

Technical Skills Required

• Minimum 4 years of experience in DHIS2 implementation and development
• Strong experience in C#, Java, ASP.NET, MVC architecture, and REST APIs
• Proficiency in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP (added advantage)
• Familiarity with React.js, Angular, or Vue.js (added advantage)
• Knowledge of data analysis, DHIS2 configuration, and health information systems

Education

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Experience

• 3–5 years of relevant professional experience
