Position Title: Medical Officer (TB Doctor)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), Saturday (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

Job Summary

Marie Adelaide Leprosy Centre (MALC) is seeking a qualified and dedicated TB Doctor to support the implementation of Tuberculosis (TB) prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and patient care services. The position requires extensive field engagement, including regular visits to health facilities, communities, outreach sites, and project implementation areas to ensure quality TB care and program performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and manage TB patients in accordance with national TB treatment guidelines.
  • Conduct clinical assessments, patient evaluations, and treatment follow-up visits.
  • Participate in active case finding, contact tracing, and community-based TB screening activities.
  • Conduct regular field visits to health facilities, outreach sites, and communities.
  • Monitor treatment adherence and support patient-centered care.
  • Supervise and provide technical support to field staff and healthcare workers.
  • Coordinate with district health authorities, partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper documentation, reporting, and maintenance of patient records.
  • Support training and capacity-building activities for field teams.
  • Prepare clinical, field monitoring, and program reports as required.

Required Qualifications

  • MBBS degree from a recognized medical institution.
  • Valid PMDC/PMC registration.
  • Minimum 4–5 years of experience in TB programs, public health, clinical practice, or related healthcare projects.
  • Experience in community-based health programs and field implementation will be preferred.
  • Knowledge of National TB Control Program (NTP) guidelines and TB management protocols.

  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience conducting field visits, supervision, and monitoring activities.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and patient counseling skills.
  • Good documentation and report-writing abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work in challenging field environments and travel frequently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
