ARCC Coordinator - Karachi

The ARCC Coordinator Karachi is based at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC), where the Anti-Rape Crisis Cell (ARCC) is already operational. The role focuses on strengthening the quality, consistency, and survivor-centred delivery of ARCC services.

The position ensures smooth coordination across health, legal, and law enforcement actors, identifies and resolves systemic bottlenecks in survivor referral pathways, and integrates psychosocial principles into coordination practices. The role works closely with the Delivery Coordinator – Karachi.

A. ARCC Coordination & Survivor Pathway Management

• Monitor survivor flow through the ARCC from intake to referral, identifying delays and systemic gaps.

• Coordinate between hospital staff, medico-legal officers, lawyers, police (SSOIUs), and prosecution to ensure timely referrals.

• Conduct regular coordination with ARCC and partner stakeholders to resolve operational bottlenecks.

• Ensure all services are delivered in a trauma-informed and dignity-based manner.

• Escalate safeguarding concerns, service gaps, or misconduct immediately to the Assistant Manager.

• Maintain a referral tracking log (non-clinical) documenting case flow, delays, and resolutions.

• Apply psychosocial principles in coordination, including awareness of trauma and secondary trauma impacts.

B. Referral System Strengthening

• Strengthen coordination between JPMC ARCC and external stakeholders including police, prosecution, legal aid teams, child protection, and social welfare departments.

• Identify gaps in referral mechanisms and propose practical solutions to improve service delivery.

• Coordinate with LAS legal teams to ensure survivors are supported and informed regarding case progress.

• Support continuous improvement of inter-agency referral pathways.

C. Reporting & Internal Coordination

• Prepare and submit monthly coordination reports covering:

  • Referral pathway status

  • Bottlenecks and resolutions

  • Inter-agency coordination updates

  • Psychosocial observations from ARCC operations

• Maintain and update ARCC coordination trackers for M&E reporting.

• Participate in internal programme meetings and ARCC coordination forums.

• Report safeguarding incidents or critical issues without delay.

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Gender Studies, or related field (Clinical/Counselling Psychology preferred).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in psychosocial support, GBV case coordination, or survivor services.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and survivor-centred approaches.
• Experience working with health, legal, or law enforcement systems is an advantage.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage with survivors and institutional actors in sensitive environments.
• Strong communication skills in English and Urdu; Sindhi is an asset.
• Proficiency in MS Office and case tracking/data systems.
• Strong commitment to ethical, survivor-centred programming.
