Purpose
Under the supervision of the Senior GBV Case Management Officer, the GBV Case Worker is responsible for providing direct, survivor-centred GBV case management services from identification to safe case closure.
The role ensures confidential, ethical, and high-quality support to GBV survivors in line with approved SOPs, referral pathways, and survivor-centred principles.

Key Responsibilities
Direct GBV Case Management
- Conduct safe and confidential intake, assessment, and risk screening of GBV survivors.
- Develop and implement individualised action and safety plans in consultation with survivors.
- Facilitate informed referrals to health, legal, shelter, MHPSS, and protection services.
- Coordinate with the GBV Mental Health Officer for cases requiring specialised mental health support.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to monitor survivor safety and service uptake.
- Ensure follow-up on referrals to confirm access to services and continuity of care.
- Support safe case closure in line with SOPs and survivor consent.
- Ensure direct ownership and management of assigned GBV cases.
Documentation & Data
- Complete accurate and confidential GBV case documentation using approved tools and systems.
- Maintain secure physical and electronic case files in line with data protection requirements.
- Ensure timely updates of case progress and case closure documentation.
Ethical Practice & Safeguarding
- Uphold survivor-centred principles, confidentiality, informed consent, and Do No Harm.
- Maintain professional boundaries and avoid conflicts of interest.
- Provide basic emotional support within scope, without delivering clinical mental health interventions.
- Identify high-risk cases and ensure immediate escalation through established mechanisms.
- Immediately report safety risks, safeguarding concerns, or ethical dilemmas through established channels.
Coordination & Supervision
- Participate in regular supervision sessions and case conferences.
- Coordinate with GBV Field Supervisors and service providers to ensure safe follow-up and effective referrals.
Other Duties
- Perform any other duties related to the position, as reasonably assigned by the Supervisor, in line with organisational policies and operational requirements.
