Job Summary:

The job will involve 70% field work and 30% desk work. The job holder will be responsible to report project manager and facilitate/implement the project activities in the field. He/She will ensure the application of the implementation strategy by considering project management tools and meeting the PMS implementing strategies in consultation with the project manager.

Job Responsibilities:

Field Work (70%)                                                                           

  • Responsible to implement/supervise field activities.
  • Responsible to implement project interventions as per implementation strategy. 
  • Responsible to involve the targeted beneficiaries/communities/schools/stakeholders in project activities and strengthen the green clubs and climate action network.
  • Responsible to develop working relationships with the school management, green clubs, civil societies, communities, stakeholders, and government line development.
  • Responsible to assist the project manager  to identify the schools in Lahore.
  • Responsible to identify potential gaps, and challenges, analyzing the problems, and prioritizing the needs.
  • Responsible to assist MEAL with the baseline survey.
  • Responsible to assist the project manager and MEAL team with field monitoring.
  • To ensure appropriate visibility of PMS and donor. 

Reporting and documentation (30%)

  • Responsible to develop green clubs’ action plans
  • Responsible to maintain project records properly in accordance with project requirements.
  • Responsible to develop activity reports and monthly /weekly progress reports to the project manager in the PMS report template.
  • Responsible to maintained meeting minutes.
  • Develop a work plan monthly basis in accordance with DIP.
  • Assist the project manager in developing monthly, quarterly, annual, and project completion reports.
  • Responsible to collect and maintaining detailed project data for reporting purposes and beneficiaries’ data for studies /success stories 
  • To maintain a beneficiary database of supported beneficiaries including photos, video clips, etc.
  • Maintain a record of distributions and attendance of all trainings and events.
  • Responsible to develop a database of schools along with important information to track the progress and strengthen coordination
  • Responsible to maintain the data and progress of libraries in the schools and mobile library on a monthly basis  
  • Responsible to maintain project master and activities files along with relevant means of verification

Job Specifications:

Education:

  • Master's degree in Social Sciences/Development Sciences, environmental sciences, or Project Management.

Work Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in project management and implementation.

Skills:

  • Project planning and scheduling: The project officer needs to be able to develop a detailed project plan and schedule that includes timelines, resources, and milestones.
  • Budgeting and cost management: The project officer needs to be able to develop and manage budgets for his/her project activities, ensuring that costs are controlled and monitored.
  • Risk management: The project officer needs to be able to identify and mitigate risks to the project, including developing contingency plans to deal with potential issues.
  • Communication: The project officer needs to be an effective communicator, able to convey project goals, timelines, and status updates to stakeholders, team members
  • Leadership: The project officer needs to be a strong leader who can inspire and motivate beneficiaries/stakeholders to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Team management: The project officer needs to be able to build liaising with the line manager including identifying and addressing performance issues.
  • Quality assurance: The project officer needs to ensure that the project meets quality standards and that deliverables are completed to the required level of quality.
  • Procurement and vendor management: The project officer needs to be able to generate purchase requests timely to procure the project deliverables.
  • Change management: The project officer needs to be able to manage changes to the project scope or timeline, including identifying potential impacts and communicating these changes to stakeholders.
  • Technical expertise: Depending on the nature of the project, the project officer may require specific technical expertise.
