WASH Engineer - Lodhran

Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Water & Sanitation Engineering.
• Valid PEC registration (Pakistan Engineering Council) is mandatory. 
• Additional certifications in WASH, climate-resilient infrastructure, IPC or environmental safeguards are desirable.

Relevant Experience:

•  5–7 years of experience in planning, designing, costing and supervising WASH infrastructure projects. 
• At least 2–3 years’ experience working with government health systems, PHED, Local Government or donor-funded WASH/health projects.
• Proven experience in contractor supervision, BOQs, site assessments, and compliance documentation.
• Familiarity with environmental and social safeguards, EMPs and gender-inclusive design standards.

Job Description:

• Develop technical design, provide costing, do quality assurance and supervision of WASH infrastructure upgrades in selected healthcare facilities in district Lodhran in close collaboration with DHO and BHU health managers.
• Conduct technical and environmental assessments of BHUs and community sites, ensuring that infrastructure meets gender-inclusive and climate-resilient standards.
• Liaise with District Health Authority (DHE), Local Government, PHED, and health facility managers to integrate infrastructure planning and ensure smooth execution.
• Supervise contractor performance, conduct quality checks and document progress through site reports and photo evidence.
• Provide guidance to BHU managers and facility-based WASH/IPC committees on operations and maintenance (O&M) protocols and sustainability planning.
• Contribute technical insights for progress reports, donor reviews and audit documentation.
• Participate in district coordination forums and infrastructure planning meetings with government stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with environmental laws, donor requirements, and organizational environmental and social safeguards.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans (EMPs) for WASH projects on a case-to-case basis
