Job Title:  Database Officer

Contract Duration: 5 months (extendable)

1. Background

CESVI Foundation-ETS, with the support of the World Food Program (WFP), is implementing a comprehensive project on ‘’Integrated Climate Risk Management for Strengthened Resilience to Climate Change in Shangla Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province,” funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Shangla is highly vulnerable to flash floods due to its topography and hydrological conditions. The project aims to develop inclusive, gender-responsive AA protocols, strengthen early warning systems (EWS), build the capacity of district and sub-national stakeholders, and raise community awareness on preparedness and disaster risk reduction (DRR).

2. Key Responsibilities

Under the guidance and supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Database Officer will be responsible for the following deliverables;

  • Maintain a robust and comprehensive database management system, in coordination with the Project Coordinator and MEAL Coordinator, to ensure the availability of accurate data to meet project and donor deadlines and inform critical decision-making.
  • Record, analyze, interpret, consolidate, and report data related to ongoing project activities/interventions.
  • Assist MEAL and project teams in data collection and data entry, as needed.
  • Support the development of regular technical progress reports based on the results framework.
  • Collect and consolidate monthly data reports and data on progress against project indicators.
  • Produce infographics, dashboards, and presentations through interpretation and visualization of key indicator data for internal and external stakeholders, including donors, government, and technical working groups.
  • Support the planning and development of monitoring activities, including but not limited to needs assessment, baseline, and end-line surveys.
  • Conduct needs and gaps analysis for development and humanitarian programming, to identify and inform organizational and sectoral priorities and programs.
  • Assist MEAL Coordinator in development of appropriate monitoring and data management strategies, data collection tools, and reporting templates.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection policies and protocols across the organization and projects, in line with Cesvi and donor guidelines.
  • Respond to any internal and external data-related queries.
  • Any other job-related task assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

a.      Education

A bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent. Training in monitoring & evaluation will be an added advantage.    

b.      Experience:

Minimum of 03 years of relevant professional experience in a similar place in the humanitarian and development sector, preferably in NGOs/INGOs.

c.      Competencies:

Superior organizational skills and ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, fluid environment.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills to build links with staff, partners, government officials, donors, and other relevant stakeholders.

Creative and flexible with problem-solving skills.

Demonstrated professionalism and diplomacy.

Ability to confidently represent oneself to high-level officials.

People management, particularly coaching and influence management

d.      Technical Skills:

Proficiency in MS Office tools, Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables), Power BI, or Tableau, for generating analytical dashboards and reports.

Proficiency iin ntin thesh language(written and spoken) is mandatory; Pashto will be an added advantage.

Highly skilled in data management, qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and data reporting
