Relevant Experience:

  • One-year house job and registration with PMDC is mandatory
  • Experience in IPC implementation and training will be an asset

  • Be experienced in community engagement/mobilization and partnership working in a community health environment.

  • Adept in communication; A confident and approachable communicator who adapts the message to fit the needs of the audience and ability to ‘see the bigger picture in problem-solving for community cohesion.
  • Previous experience of working with IPC project will be an added advantage. 

Job Description:

  • Responsible to promote and demonstrate Infection Prevention and Control practices through visual aids and relevant IEC material.
  • Conduct engagement sessions among health care workers at far-flung health care facilities and communities.
  • Expected to promote community engagement and community sessions on Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Implementation of different project activities through Mobile Van Unit (MVU) to promote Infection Prevention and Control Practices.
  • Attending local health forums/groups/meetings regularly where required to represent IPC, promote IPC and maintain local partnerships (this will involve some public speaking/presenting to small/medium groups of people.
  • Attending all relevant team meetings including district team meetings and community engagement meetings providing engagement updates and contributing to quarterly reports as directed by the project lead.
  • Supporting with communications strategies e.g. public open events, training and awareness raising sessions, communications materials, social media, etc.
  • Center of excellence monitoring and supporting supervision on IHHN developed IPC checklist to improve IPC practices and Program assessment on IPCAF Tool including weekly report submission on supportive supervision.
  • Develop a monthly reporting on IPC checklist, prepare IPC Committee meeting minutes and quarterly report on IPCAF tool.
  • Support the DFP in conducting district stakeholders/coordination meeting on IP Waste management committee meeting.
  • Assess the health facilities assessment with DFP and MEAL officer to identify the gaps in IPC practices and prepare the training material accordingly
  • Orient the Youth Volunteers on Community sessions and support the team in community activity
  • Arrange and conduct the IPC orientation session at COE for HCWs on regular basis
  • Support the district team in arranging the MVU session
  • Development of MVU route plan, activity plan and visit reports
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor
