The humanitarian – development NEXUS is an important element of SOLIDAR’s strategy, which mandates sustainable resilience of the most vulnerable people.
In Pakistan, SOLIDAR started implementing humanitarian and development assistance projects since 2010 and have benefitted over half a million people since then. Presently, SOLIDAR’s work in Pakistan includes i) humanitarian assistance, ii) well-being of vulnerable children and iii) livelihood and decent work in the informal economy. SOLIDAR’s projects are being implemented in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and slum areas of Islamabad and Rawalpindi (Punjab).
Under the overall supervision of Chief Technical Advisor / Country Representative and close collaboration with national and international staff within the areas of responsibility, the MEAL Officer takes responsibility of putting in place M&E system for projects thereby contributing to meet program quality standards and accountability measures. The MEAL Officer is also responsible to assist the Country Representative in tasks meant to develop country office program and project portfolios.
Specific responsibilities may include, but not limited to, the following:
- Carry out baseline & end-line studies, need assessments, periodic/peer reviews, evaluation activities and onward reporting to the line manager
- Assist, develop, and implement standards and guidelines for the M&E practice
- Evaluate and monitor the outcome of the related activities in the respective projects
- Carryout field monitoring visits to collect M&E data/information
- Gather information and seek feedback from beneficiary, partners and stakeholders and ensure that findings are addressed & reported
- Collate M&E/project data/information to ensure effective implementation of activities and that by meeting mandatory requirements
- Keep a track of reporting requirements and prepare high quality reports to meet internal and external reporting requirements
- Research secondary data, analyse and present when and where desired
- Data analysis, documentation of lessons and sharing of findings with internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in learning sessions/trainings to reflect M & E findings and incorporate lessons learnt into program designs
- Support the development of knowledge products including training manuals, reports, presentation and other materials
- Coordination/liaison with stakeholders such as government offices, CSOs, INGOs, UN systems, networks etc. and represent Solidar when directed
- Actively participate in program development activities, scoping missions and support the supervisor to draft concept notes/proposals
- Contribute to strategic reviews, informing and drafting strategic papers/documents for internal and external stakeholders
- In addition to the abovementioned duties, perform tasks assigned to achieve the organizational objectives
