AiD has received USAID’s award for the Economic Recovery and Development Activity (ERDA), which is a five-year project (Feb-2022-Feb-2027) designed to expand economic opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its Newly Merged Districts (NMDs). ERDA will promote sustainable economic growth by improving agriculture sector capacity and supporting allied MSMEs in the non-agriculture sectors. 

 

Qualification/ Experience & Skills Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree BSc in Civil Engineering with minimum 2 years’ and not more than 5 years of experience.

Or

DAE/BTech in Civil Engineering with minimum 3 years’ and not more than 7 years of experience.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Good computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel, and AutoCAD.
  • Willing to travel to NMD’s and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
  • Registration with Pakistan Engineering Council is mandatory (In case of BSc Engineering.)
  • Good communication skills along with fluency in Urdu and Pashto language are desirable.

 

Tasks & Responsibilities:

The Site Inspector will have the following responsibilities and tasks while working under the technical supervision and guidance of the Soil & Water Associate:

  • Overseeing and implementing agricultural and irrigation infrastructure activities within the intervention area.
  • Ensuring supervision, quality control, and quantity control of interventions, ensuring they meet required standards.
  • Managing site survey, quantity takeoff, work measurement, and preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Conducting regular visits to project areas for site inspections as per the approved process and output level indicators.
  • Performing tests and inspections of materials on site.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate measurements of executed.
  • Ensuring all planned interventions are completed according to design, drawings and within specified timelines, while adhering to quality standards and specifications.
  • Preparing and maintaining project records, including daily progress reports, inspection reports, RFI’s etc.
  • Identifying and timely reporting any delays, gaps or issues that may affect project timelines and proposing solutions.
  • Collaborating with contractor’s representatives/engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of implementation.
  • Enforcing environmental and safety protocols and regulations on the construction site to prevent accidents, injuries and environmental compliance.
  • Building the capacity of the target community in operation and maintenance.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with local communities, line departments, NGOs/INGOs, and private service providers.
  • Assisting in conflict resolution on-site if needed.
  • Undertaking any other task assigned by the technical lead/management.
