Database Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Expert Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The DBA will be responsible for managing and maintaining our databases, ensuring optimal performance, data security, and integrity. Additionally, the DBA will be involved in system engineering activities to support our projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain database systems and related software.
• Monitor database performance and resolve issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery plans to ensure data availability.
• Ensure data security and integrity by implementing appropriate access controls.
• Troubleshoot database-related problems and provide timely solutions.
• Collaborate with the Lead MIS Expert and project team on database optimization and indexing.
• Install, configure, and maintain servers, operating systems, and databases.
• Research and implement new software/tools/frameworks as required by the project.
• Analyze hardware and software requirements and manage inventory.
• Configure network connections and troubleshoot any issues.
• Generate progress reports and maintain documentation.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 16 years Degree in BS/B.E Computer Science for HEC recognized University or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in configuring and optimizing databases (MySQL, SQLServer, PostgreSQL) with high availability.
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Strong data analysis skills and experience with ETL processes.
• Knowledge of database security principles and optimization techniques.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

       Preferred Qualifications (optional, would be granted an additional 5% marks):

• CCNA or CCNP certifications.
• Experience in data center operations.
• Certification in Database Management from OEM centers.
