Overview:

Jhpiego is an international non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University, USA. Jhpiego is dedicated to improving the health of women and families in developing countries.

 In Pakistan’s Punjab province, DMPA-SC is being newly introduced, consistent with the Government of Punjab’s vision to accelerate the province’s progress toward achieving its FP2030 goals to improve the MCPR, offer equal access to quality FP services, and expand method choice for all women.

Jhpiego, seeks Program/MIS Assistant at the provincial level, to facilitate in coordination with stakeholders, data management and analysis and feedback to provincial and district officials.

Key Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks:

  • Mapping of provincial management information systems for family planning services
  • Review and analyze existing family planning service statistics for intervention districts and health facilities
  • Coordinate with provincial and district data management team for timely data collection
  • Identify potential areas for DMPA SC in existing recording and reporting tools
  • Maintain and update project MIS in IRMNCH& NP provincial office
  • Develop plan for data validation and reporting and ensure implementation of plan including quality and timely data collection and reporting 
  • Facilitate provincial MIS team field visit plan for data verification and spot checks in coordination with M&E team
  • Coordinate with IRMNCH&NP team and facilitate representation of DMPA SC project team in relevant forums
  • Facilitate research and M&E teams in development of tools designing as per existing DHIS system
  • Ensure timely reporting of indicators data into DBMS after review and rectification process
  • Ensure proper documentation of project and activities data in hard and soft form at IRMNCH&NP office
  • Conduct thorough joint desk monitoring and reviews of collected data and share feedback with team for timely correction
  • Work in close coordination with DHIS, LHW-MIS and cLMIS teams at provincial level
  • Support AM MIS in development of project dashboards and data management systems
  • Technically assist in development of digital applications and maintenance of TIMS as and when required
  • Work closely with teams to collect data for formative and implementation research and provide them support at field level
  • Coordination with District teams for nominations for trainings
  • Participate in capacity building of project staff on data collection tools, data analysis and to improve data quality.
  • Support provincial team in coordination and communication with provincial offices

Qualification, Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelors degree in public health, sociology, demography, statistics, or other social science; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 3 years plus work experience supporting technical or programmatic activities
  • At least 2 years of experience in health data collection, processing, and analysis, database development.
  • Good MIS and M&E experience and good knowledge of the approaches and tools.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong eye for detail.
  • Proven experience in health data management systems and field data validation
  • Possess good knowledge of different data analysis software, such as SPSS, MS Excel and Epi Info etc.
  • Experience of working with health and population departments at provincial level
  • Good written, oral and presentation skills 
  • Good coordination and communication skills
  • Availability and willingness to travel
  • Preference will be given to local candidate having knowledge and experience of local context and language
  • Covid vaccination certificate would be desirable as per government protocols.
