MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  1. Responsible for implementation of emergency WASH response projects in Sindh 
  2. Reporting, monitoring, and implementation of emergency project
  3. Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor    

 

MAIN DUTIES AND TASKS:

 Planning, implementation, and quality assurance of emergency WASH program activities:

  1.     Networking, cooperation, and capacity building
  • Implement emergency program activities in accordance with adopted plans and budgets
  • Provide technical feedback/advice on designs, approaches and structures to partners as and when required
  • Attend cluster meetings in the field and participate actively
  • Develop tools for assessments and conduct regular field visits for Pre/Post KAP surveys, post distribution monitoring and implementation of WASH/emergency programs
  • Develop and implement monitoring procedures to ensure quality control related to WASH activities by partners in collaboration with communities and service providers.
  • Submit regular and timely monitoring reports with findings and recommendations
  • Contribute to capacity building of partner’s staff
  • Ensure implementing partners have approval for WASH activities in affected areas from concerned Government authorities to avoid overlapping
  • Contribute to the development of project reports as and when required
  • Ensure reporting to relevant cluster by 4/5Ws and related coordination networks
  • Ensuring that proper reporting and documentation systems are in place
  • Monitor utilization of budget and provide steering of the project as per standard
  • Maintain and further develop contacts with partners, NGOs/other actors in civil society, government, and relevant international organizations/donors.
  • The position holder may be asked to perform other tasks by the Programme Coordinator and management

Qualifications and experience:- 

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Development studies or relevant to WASH
  • Minimum five years’ experience, the implementation of emergency projects specifically WASH will be an added value
  • Experience of working with international agencies and/or NGO an advantage

Other skills:-

  • Good understanding of local context, culture, vulnerable groups, and underlying socio-politico-economic situation and working with senior leaders and communities of diverse faiths
  • Experience of developing program strategy and strong proposals and reports writing skills
  • Good understanding and experience in positive use of social media and digitalization tools
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to define work priorities
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English with good knowledge of Urdu and other local languages
  • A good team player, and learn and use online financial and budget management systems.
