Introduction:

USAID/Pakistan’s Economic Recovery and Development Activity (ERDA) is a $20-25 million, five-year (2021-2026) activity designed to expand economic opportunities in the Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province by strengthening and modernizing the agriculture sector and promoting farm and off-farm micro- and small enterprises (MSEs). Interventions under this activity will promote sustainable economic growth by improving agriculture sector capacity and supporting allied MSEs in the non-agriculture sectors. Additionally, the activity will leverage planned public sector development initiatives and will support policy reforms to create an enabling environment for private sector investments in sectors that offer the highest potential for economic growth. The activity will provide targeted technical assistance to the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (GoKP) to maximize the impact of planned public sector economic growth initiatives in the NMDs and promote sustainable economic activity in the region.

Summary:

Blumont is seeking to identify technical experts in the following fields for anticipated work that supports project activities in the Newly Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan.

  • Micros Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) Development
  • Marketing

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Directs the strategic technical direction of the assigned project component
  • Ensures quality control of delivery of sub-outputs relating to improved farm-level productivity and processing, agribusiness value chain development, technology adoption, value addition, and market development
  • Supervises and takes responsibility for contractual oversight of partner organizations as they relate to specific project activities for smooth implementation, working closely with the grants team to ensure compliance with USAID rules and regulations
  • Review, contribute to and support data collection to track progress against indicators in collaboration with the M&E component
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills & Experience:

 

  • Master Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Agri Economics, Public Policy, or related field.
  • With a minimum of 7 years of experience in a position of a similar nature in public/ private sector or of running an Agri-SME, focusing on livestock, horticulture, other fields of agriculture and/or rural development, including experience in project development/management in a similar donor driven agriculture delivery initiative.
