Pharmacist

JOB SUMMARY (Overall purpose of the job):

Assists pharmacy in charge/ unit in charge to run Pharmacy in a professional and legal way and implement policies and procedures to provide best health care services. Facilitates Consultants/doctors to provide better patient care regarding medications

Relevant Experience:

  Personal Competency

1. Demonstrate polite and courteous behaviour at all times.       
2. Demonstrate positive and receptive attitude to those in authority and to customers
3. Ability to give oral instructions / information to patients and visitors in colloquial Urdu/ Sindhi

Technical Competency

1. Provide drug information services to doctors, nursing staff and patients.
2. Ability to check medication errors
3. Ability to communicate with Doctors regarding patient’s medication.
4. Ability to counsel the patients for medication, if required

Education: Pharm D with 3 years’ work experience in hospital or retail setting.

Job Description:

1. Fully aware of mission statement of AKHSP and endeavours to implement with team spirit within the department.
2. To establish and run pharmacy in a professional and legal way.
3. To implement the policies and protocols as per Government Regulatory Authority and ISO standards.
4. To counsel the patients and provide information about dispensed medicines if required.
5. To check the prescription for proper dosage
6. Providing medications to inpatients and outpatients from Pharmacy shop.
7. Prepare cash memos for every prescription and deposit cash with the copies of cash memo and over-statement to Finance Department.
8. Check and maintain medication stock in the shop.
9. Keep vigilant check over expiry date and leakages verses contamination of medicines/ infusions.
10. Keeps record of temperature of Pharmacy Premises and Refrigerator.
11. Prepare indent requisition of supplies and medicines for issuance from warehouse.
12. Attends all departmental meetings as and when required.
