About the Project:

Pakistan Agricultural Technology Transfer Activity (PATTA) is a 4-year, USAID-funded project that will bring to scale private sector solutions to improve agricultural productivity in Pakistan. PATTA is partnering with agricultural technology companies to commercialize products and services with the potential to increase the productivity and competitiveness of smallholder farmers while mobilizing private sector investment in agricultural technology. PATTA partnerships will provide smallholder farmers with broader access to affordable technologies to increase productivity and incomes, build resilience to climate change, and reduce postharvest losses. 

Position Description:

Working under the supervision of Chief of Party, the Business Development Services/Marketing Specialist will be responsible for managing portfolios of technology firms and demand-side partners and build linkages between these partners. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

The main duties of the Business Development Services/Marketing Specialist are:

  • Manage portfolios of technology firms and demand-side partners and build linkages between these partners.
  • Conduct preliminary diagnostics of supply- and demand-side partners and draft scopes of work, implementation plans, and MOUs, in coordination with staff in the Agricultural Technology Unit.
  • Provide direct technical support or develop scopes of work for STTA contracts that support human and organizational development, revise business plans, and develop improved business, outreach, and marketing plans in coordination with other technical staff.
  • Identify resource requirements for implementation plans and advise on management practices and workforce additions.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • At least seven years of relevant, professional experience in roles with increasing levels of responsibility required, 10+ years preferred;
  • Minimum of Bachelors' degree required in Marketing, Agricultural Economics, Business Administration, or other relevant field; master’s degree preferred;
  • Experience supporting donor-funded projects is required, USAID experience preferred;
  • Experience working in or with relevant public and private sector actors strongly preferred;
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and leadership skills, especially in dealing with those from other countries;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details; and
  • Fluency in English is required
