Curriculum Development Specialists will be responsible for the development of training content, curricula, Teaching & learning material that focus on youth employability, skills including technical/ vocational skills, basic numeracy and literacy skills, and/or related soft or social skills development - that aligns with national & international TVET standards.

Job Description:

  • Design & Develop new curricula to include outcomes and assessments
  • Customize existing curricula for various objectives & timelines
  • Continuously improve and keep existing curricula updated
  • Work with teachers including trainers and administrators to evaluate existing curricula and assess the quality of instruction
  • Design and produce engaging and accessible online learning experiences in accordance with industry-standard instructional design and content development process, models, and frameworks
  • Training and capacity building in curricula development focusing on Competency Based Training in a workforce development or TVET context with focus on youth employability skills including technical/ vocational skills, basic numeracy and literacy skills, and/or related soft or social skills development
  • Training of instructional personnel and conducting training-of-trainers, ideally in TVET institutional settings
  • Development of national TVET qualifications frameworks, skill standards or metrics
  • Design and develop for Instructor-led training (ILT), online, and blended learning environments.
  • Developing training programs to improve vocational and employability skills for youth
  • Supports academic improvements made through research, development, and testing of new curricula and teaching and learning methods and makes recommendations to administration.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and practices for the design, development, delivery and evaluation of learning content and activities
  • Applies learning objectives in the development of instructional designs, digital storyboards, instructional prototypes, and multiple-choice assessments.
  • Attend donors/partners capacity building trainings  
  • Perform other duties as assigned by line Manager including classroom training, participation of project teams, local center activities, and meetings

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least a Master’s degree in Education, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • 4-6 years of experience in instructional design & curriculum development.
  • Experience of working on content development &  in training and development of adult education preferably related to TVET training.
  • Knowledge of various approaches to education and training including adult learning, blended learning, and traditional & non-traditional education.
  • Knowledge of instructional design, excellent analytical, critical thinking, interpersonal collaboration, problem-solving, planning/organizing, and facilitation skills required.
  • Attention to detail, ability to plan and meet deadlines, and flexibility to quickly adapt required. Must possess proficiency with Microsoft Office software including PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrable competence and experience required in adult learning, needs assessment, training design, development, delivery, and evaluation is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and be able to work under pressure with limited guidance.
