Purpose of Activity:

In order to support the COVID-19 Secretariat at the Planning Commission in developing mental health coordinating unit to combat the psychological effects of COVID-19, Planning Commision requires services of a Senior Technical Advisor Mental Health for duties and responsibilities as detailed below:

Scope of Work:

  1. Raise public awareness for both the psychosocial well-being of at-risk populations and address stigma and discrimination of infected populations;
  2. Identify and manage stress related conditions in healthcare workers and first responders, and integrate mental health and psychosocial support in response activities.
  3. Provide psychosocial counselling to the most vulnerable population groups including women and children at risk, bereaved families and people with disabilities.
  4. Develop mental healthcare referral pathways for people suffering from mental disorders.

Required minimum Qualification:

PhD in Mental Health, Social Studies or Related field

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  1. A senior Mental health professional with at least 15 years of experience of working in mental healthcare in Pakistan.
  2. Expert in Developing policy and legislative framework, service development, capacity building and advocacy.
  3. Must have a thorough understanding of the mental healthcare system in Pakistan.
  4. Have at least 10 years of experience, working with International agencies in developing and implementing mental healthcare services, particularly related to humanitarian context.

Note: This is Islamabad (office based) assignemnt and the advisor is required for full time for (03) months of the contract.
