Pakistan Red Crescent Society invites applications for the following positions for qualified and dynamic candidates for appointment on purely contract basis based in Karachi and Badin for a DRR Project.
Title of the Job: WASH Officer (Male/Female)-01 position

Position Role:
The position will act as project officer to manage the implementation of WASH project in targeted public schools in Karachi and Badin. H/she has to supervise and guide ‘School Facilitators’ to plan and implement WASH awareness activities.
Person Specification:
- University degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Civil Engineering,
- Minimum 3x years of project management experience in WASH programming preferably in school-WASH with any humanitarian organization. Working with international Humanitarian organization will be preferred.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills in English and Urdu.
- Proven report writing skills.
- Understanding of national/provincial school WASH policies and SPHERE standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed activity plan and implement the same in selected schools by considering SPHER standards.
- Prepare quality reports of project progress.
- Supervise and guide school facilitators in activities’ implementations.
- Develop or assist in preparing IEC material, training manual /module for awareness sessions.
- Mapping stakeholders for the project intervention and ensure their engagement in project implementation where necessary.
- Establish productive working relationships with school administrators and government officials to promote good WASH practices in schools.
- Prepare and maintain beneficiary data base having Sex, Age, Disability (SAD) information.
- Ensure proper engagement and ownership of school administration to project activities.
- Prepare and submit project progress reports as per defined frequency.
- Take steps (prepare success stories, publish in PRCS newsletter and relevant publications of public or CSOs on the same theme etc.) to showcase the project success.
- Support School WASH councils in planning and implementation of health and hygiene promotion activities.
- Strengthen School Management Committees to successfully operate and maintain school WASH infrastructure.
- Lead the implementation of School WASH positive behavior change strategy.
- Train school administrators and teachers in the Child Hygiene and Sanitation Training (CHAST) approach and oversee its implementation.
- Monitor and ensure functionality of School WASH facilities, including improved water sources, latrines and hand washing facilities.
