Pakistan Red Crescent Society invites applications for the following positions for qualified and dynamic candidates for appointment on purely contract basis based in Karachi and Badin for a DRR Project.
Title of the Job: School Facilitators (Female)-04 positions
Job duty station: Karachi
Job duration: 1x year (daily wage basis-TBC)
Reported to: WASH officer
Project: HfK (heart for children), project
Job Role:
Implement WASH activities effectively in targeted schools so as to change the behavior of children towards improved WASH practices.
Person Specification:
- Bachelor degree OR Master’s degree in Social Sciences.
- Minimum two years of relevant field work (hygiene promotion/ community mobilization) experience.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in local languages Urdu/Sindhi.
- Computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel.
- Having excellent event management and mobilization skill.
Job Responsibilities:
- Strongly mobilize the school children and administration about WASH practices through regular field visits.
- Conduct quality health and hygiene sessions in targeted schools for children and teachers to ensure that target population is mobilized and adequately informed regarding health and hygiene issues related to water supply, sanitation and solid waste disposal.
- Conduct training of school activists (WASH council, SMCs) on health and hygiene promotion to enable them to replicate the same in the communities.
- Supervise and facilitate and trained WASH council and SMCs in record keeping.
- Facilitate the school children and teachers to develop school WASH plan and implement the same.
- Develop health and hygiene training materials and modules, with technical guidance of WASH officer and GRC technical team.
- Coordinate with technical staff responsible for construction of water & sanitation structures in the target schools to complement each other.
- Collect case stories/success stories during the project life.
- Organize WASH related events effectively and efficiently.
- Prepare activity reports and submit timely.
