Position Summary:

The position facilitates the field implementation of Deep Hand Pumps & other project activities in close coordination with the partner communities, local line departments, other NGOs. The main purpose is to identify potential sites as per the need & criteria & to monitor vendor’s performance as per the contract.

The position is also responsible for ensuring maximum community participation in project planning, implementation, field monitoring & support programmes coordinator & site engineer in effective Programme implementation in the district. The position holder will work under direct supervision of Programmes Coordinator and will report as per the project reporting requirements. 

Job Description:

  1. Responsible to select the communities according to project criteria & formation/activation of village organizations as per need
  2. Responsible to conduct meetings with community influential, social leaders and sensitize and aware mass population on local development issues being catered by the project
  3. Conduct meetings with selected committees and record minutes
  4. Facilitate base line and end line in targeted communities and engage local volunteers
  5. Identify potential community members and formulate & train village organization, village committees on communal saving mechanisms
  6. Implement Project activities to meet identified needs and strengthen communities’ capacities ensuring active participation from beneficiaries.
  7. Identify sites for the installation of Deep Hand Pumps, monitor vendor’s work & ensure completion as per agreed deadlines
  8. Assist the Site Engineer in ensuring the quality of materials used & compliance to agreed BOQs
  9. Assist the Site engineer in reviewing vendors’ payment including details as per actual work completed in the field
  10. Capture photographs, fill & report formats for each individual project & support in drafting reports
  11. Support field team in implementation of seasonal/special projects within tight deadlines
  12. Participate with the project team for implementation of the project activities and planning
  13. Ensure respect to the context of local communities
Accountabilities
  • Ensure Selection of communities/sites as per crietria. Due attention must be paid to ensuring that communities are adequately consulted and informed about HA programme objectives, activities, beneficiary selection criteria, and methodologies.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all relations with the communities we work are conducted in a respectful and consultative manner.
  • Ensure sessions/awareness campaigns as per project implementation plan
  • Ensure record keeping and documentations for proejct activities
  • Fill, Check & control relevant documents on regular basis

Job Requirements:

Qualification

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or any relevant field.

Experience

  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant work experience in social mobilization is required

  1. Interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  2. Good technical skills in community mobilization & sensitization in relation to girls’ education
  3. Good understanding of technical aspects in child rights/protection/safeguarding
  4. Sensitivity to the needs and priorities of disadvantaged populations
  5. Fluent in local languages
  6. Diplomacy tact and negotiating skills.
  7. Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
  8. Self-motivated
  9. Understanding of gender issue
  10. Preferably from local area, Sindhi speaking and familiar with local geographical conditions.
