Remuneration package
We aim to provide an overall remuneration package that is attractive and fair. Our global remuneration framework ensures we align to local pay, employment conditions and laws, and we benchmark against the local market to ensure we offer competitive employment conditions that are appropriate to our sector.

13th month payment
As a permanent employee, you will receive a payment equivalent to one month’s salary each year (pro-rata for those working part of the year).

Leave

Purpose of the role:

Reporting to the Finance & Operations Manager, the Finance Officer is accountable for the preparation and processing of payments and transactions in line with the Fred Hollows Foundation policies, procedures and prescribed accounting practices to ensure that accurate financial information is available to support decisions within the Pakistan Country Office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the accounting procedures, systems and internal controls by managing the project financial records to ensure accountability, consistency and fairness by conforming to the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the FHF finance policy and relevant laws.
  • Review periodic partner transfer requests & acquittals to budgets and present analysis to Finance & Operations Manager (FOM) for approval and ensure that proper support documents are received and record into SUN system.
  • Ensure all program and partner staff understand the financial requirements, policies and procedures enabling them to provide complete, accurate and timely documentation as per project work plans.
  • Prepare all documentation for payments and recording by ensuring compliance with prescribed policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws for WHT deductions and timely deposit in government treasury.
  • Process and adjust advances, payables, acquittals, prepaid, accrual and other monthly transactions in a timely manner for smooth financial closing and monthly update of balance sheet schedules.
  • Prepare monthly balance reconciliation statements, follow up for cash count and petty cash certificates.
  • Assisting in procurement practices for complying with policies and ensuring fairness. 
  • Maintain all files in a proper sequence and ensure that filing system aligns with the electronic data and provides easily accessible back up documentation in support of financial transactions.
  • Assist the manager during internal and external audits by providing support documents and required information to auditors.       
  • Extract, review and present monthly management accounts for presentation to program team and FOM.
  • Actively participate in development and review of the annual FHF Pakistan and donor budgets.
  • Extract donor reports within reporting time frame for review by Finance & Operations Manager and release to the programme team and donor in the donor approved reporting template.
  • Other tasks as requested by your manager.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in an International NGO in a Finance department requiring the use of an accounting system for processing of transactions and completing reconciliations.
  • High level of computer literacy with sound knowledge of financial accounting software and spreadsheet packages.
  • Experience in financial compliance and coordination with auditors.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, budget/cash-flow monitoring and internal controls.
  • Knowledge and use of SUN systems.

Skills:

  • Microsoft office including advance skills in Excel and Word;
  • Strong communication skills including fluency in written and spoken English and the ability to write effectively for varied purposes and audiences;
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and juggle several priority tasks;
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills including the ability to prioritize and multi-task work;
  • High sense of integrity, ethics and confidentiality;
  • An excellent team player and result-oriented personality;
  • Ability to support the development of skills and capacity including training initiatives;
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and support programs;
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skills.

Qualifications: 

  • CA- finalist, ACMA, ACCA qualified or equivalent Master degree.
