The Horticultural Advancement Activity (THAzA)

Request for Applications (RFA) # ENCSF-011/2020

Establishment of New Cold Storage Facilities in Balochistan and KP

‘The Horticultural Advancement Activity’ (THAzA) is a 5-year project awarded by USAID and implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. THAzA focuses on selected horticultural value chains in Balochistan and in the selected Newly Merged Districts (NMDs) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (previously called FATA). The objectives of THAzA are to create jobs and generate income, through increased productivity and quality, improved marketing and access to services and investments in horticultural value chains.

THAzA intends to extend grant support on cost sharing basis for the establishment of new cold storage facilities with a capacity of 300 MT. These will be in-kind grants wherein FAO will procure machinery/equipment and hardware items and deliver each grantee’s site for installation. Selected grantees will be required to invest into the activity by covering all other cost components of the activity budget, including acquisition of land, construction and civil work. THAzA grant support offer is for facilities planned within the selected districts of Balochistan and KP.

Through this RFA, FAO invites interested investors from all over Pakistan to apply for THAzA grants. Women entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply and will be given priority.

For further details regarding this RFA, including application form, interested applicants may either download the complete RFA from https://new.brightspyre.com/jobs/jid/36979 or obtain copies from the FAO / THAzA Provincial offices in Quetta and Peshawar.
