Background

The position of Psychologist is one of the project posts within a multidisciplinary team that will be stationed in Balochistan (Quetta, Chagi, Noshki, Killa Saifullah, Mastung & Pishin).

This post will play a pivotal role by providing psychological support, including, quality case management by providing counseling, informing the survivors about all available services, drafting an action plan and, after seeking consent of survivors, referring to adequate services. The position will work in close collaboration with the Project Coordinator and Snr. Program Manager.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Identify vulnerable cases need to be provide with direct psychosocial support and internal and external referral as needed, accordingly to a beneficiary/survivor centered
  2. approach and based on guiding principles.
  3. Provide an assessment on identified cases of persons at risk and survivors of GBV.
  4. The Psychologist will ensure that cases under assistance receive all the care and support needed.
  5. Psychologist will provide beneficiary/survivor access to immediate, safe and multi-sectoral services through referral, and also ensures a timely referral to most appropriate services available.
  6. Support the development and establishment of internal and external referral and coordination mechanisms for assistance to People of Concern.
  7. Maintain records and follow up action plans of the beneficiaries.
  8. Carrying out briefings on Child and Adult Psychology and protection related issues to in house medical staff.
  9. Strengthen and maintain networks with community leaders and groups, service providers and peer psycho-social support group members to ensure that survivors receive compassionate support from the community & stakeholders and establish greater communication, collaboration and coordination among partners (protection, health, legal, and psychosocial sectors).
    1. Advise response associate on how they could deal with cases and be helped by counseling.
    2. Analyze data such as interview notes, test results, and reference manuals in order to identify symptoms, and to diagnose the nature of clients' problems.
    3. Collect information and document about individuals or clients, using interviews, case histories, observational techniques, and other assessment methods.
    4. Counsel individuals, groups, or families to help them understand problems, define goals, and develop realistic action plans.
    5. Develop therapeutic and treatment plans based on clients' interests, abilities, and needs.

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Psychology Bachelor Degree and other related certificates
  • 3 to 5 years work experience in in the same domain.
  • Proactive and able to perform under stress
  • Conceptual ability; excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to make timely and quality judgments and decisions.
  • Good Coordination skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc)
  • Ability to take the initiative within clearly defined parameters.

Excellent knowledge of English and Local Languages (Pushto and Urdu).
