Media Officer

Context:

The Social Media Officer will support the Finance Department on collecting, disseminating, and monitoring of information on Social Media and counter the negative information through social media. The Media officer will work closely with Finance Department to create engaging content for the Government’s social media presence, including keeping social media channels updated and brand-focused and seeking out new social media avenues and ways of connecting with audiences ongoing and proposed reforms covering the management of public finances in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Scope of Duties:

• Manages provincial government social media channels, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other relevant platforms, and help determine which social media channels are right.
• Works as part of a team to develop large social media campaigns. Set up a social media account and help create a social media schedule.
• Engages in social media presence creation on new and emerging social media platforms
• Creates dynamic written, graphic, and video content
• Optimizes content following search engine optimization (SEO) and pay-per-click (PPC) and help generates content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on government sites, and encourages audience participation
• Analyses and reports audience information and demographics, and success of existing social media projects
• Proposes new ideas and concepts for social media content. Works with government and social media team members to coordinate ad campaigns with social media strategy
• Writes and distributes e-newsletters to subscribers and manages social media communications.
• Any other relevant task as assigned by the Finance Department.

Required Qualification, Experience, and Skills Set:

• Bachelors’ with Marketing, Communication or Social Media Marketing or other relevant subjects,
• At least three years of experience in Content Writing, Graphic Design, Campaign Execution,
• Self-Motivation, Strong Communication Skills, Networking, Idea Presentation, Proofreading, Strong Customer-Service Skills, Enthusiasm, Detail-Oriented, Collaboration

• Expertise and experience in the Financial Sector and cross-cutting issues such as gender is an asset;
• Experience working for the Government is an asset.

Contract Duration

Initially for one year with possible extension based on performance.
