Programme Coordinator TOR’s

Background:

Peace & Justice Network (PJN) is a national civil society network consisting of over 50 member and partner organizations registered with SECP under Section 42 working for Social Justice, Rule of Law and Good Governance for Peaceful, Just, Inclusive and Prosperous Pakistan with prime focus on SDGs 16 Plus promotion and implementation, is looking for dynamic and hardworking person with right experience in one of its upcoming program in Punjab with long term commitment:

The program aims to achieve these objectives by creating a more protective and enabling environment for girls, boys, women, youth, religious minorities, the differently-abled and those at risk of exclusion and exploitation by supporting/ strengthening systems and community responses that provide protection from exploitation and prevent discrimination and intolerance at all levels. The program approaches these issues from both the supply side (government/institutions) and demand-side (individual/community).

PJN will work with civil society partner organizations to implement community-based interventions by establishing provincial and district forums in two phases. In the first phase from January 2020 to March 2022 in 13 selected districts of Punjab.

 

JOB Purpose:

Provide management and coordination support and reporting on programme delivery.  Identify and implement approaches and techniques to achieve programme targets on time and establish and smoothly run civil society advocacy forum at the provincial level.

 

Thematic expertise and Programme Management:

  • Provide technical support and take lead in establishing civil society policy advocacy and lobbying forum at provincial and district level
  • Responsible for the effective functioning of higher-level advocacy forum at the provincial level  
  • Take technical lead in sporting monitoring, mobilization and capacity building of the citizens' group and thematic activities
  • Promote knowledge management to establish EWS and ERM and oversight the smooth functioning of these systems
  • Conduct  thematic consultation (Women, Youth, PWS, Minorities, Child labour, and Modern slavery) at the provincial level
  • Identify thematic resources, engage a thematic expert and deliver special research, trainings and advocacy assignments
  • Ensure timely delivery of the programme activities as per the work plan agreed with the PMU, and the regular monitoring of programme reports/transaction, review budget requirements and consistent application of policies, rules, and regulations
  • Ensure foreseen changes of adjustments to budget or activities are submitted to, and approved by DFID And BC in a timely manner, in accordance with contract agreements
  • Any other task assigned by the Provincial lead     


Standard Minimum Qualification:

Education: Advanced University degree (16 years of education) in Social Sciences.  

Experience and specific expertise: At least 7 years of work experience and:

  • Work experience with a national and international organization or projects on women, children and venerable population issues
  • Proven working/ engagement experience with government departments especially MOWD, LG, Youth, HR, and Labour  
  • Proven experience of writing donor reports and drafting of advocacy agendas
  • Well versed with the customs and culture of Punjab
  • MS Word, Excel and maintaining database experience
  • Team player and willing to extensive travel within Punjab
  • Good knowledge of Pakistan governing system


Language: Fluency in English and Urdu language and excellent writing skills
