Civil Engineer - Contractual

Relevant Experience:

• BSc Civil Engineering or DAE Civil Technology
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
• Experienced in school repair and maintenance
• Experience in the rehabilitation of WASH facilities

 Job Description:

Relief International is focusing on improving educational outcomes for vulnerable children. We collaborate with students, parents, teachers, community leaders, and government departments to enroll Afghan refugee and Pakistani children in the 45 schools target schools.

Safe, secure school environments are critically important for retaining children in schools. RI plans to provide improvement and need-based maintenance in 45 schools in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to enhance the learning environment, safety and provide specific spaces that support girls’ enrolment. Summary of target school is as below:

-          District Peshawar (29)

-          District Nowshera (09)

-          District Swabi       (07)

 Key Areas Responsibilities:

 Relief International will provide a list of schools, contact details of responsible teachers/PTC members and list of prioritizing area (s) of improvement in each school.  Based on these details, Field Engineer will be responsible to deliver the following:

• Conduct visits to Target schools and prepares Cost estimates (BoQs) for 45 schools.  
• Monitor and supervise repair and maintenance work on sites.
• Provide technical support to vendor and skill workers on site.
• Ensure the quality of work according to vendor agreement and RI’s standards.
• Obtain completion certificates from School and PTCs.
• Weekly reporting on progress.
• Comply with the RI’s Child Protection Policy to ensure maximum protection for children.
